What ELGi values have stayed with you since you first joined?
In my opinion, it’s got to be Innovation!
Ever since I joined ELGi, I saw my co-workers strive to improve on all aspects of work on a normal basis. Even if the existing process works, there is always room for enhancing efficiency.
What do you feel is most important to young women working professionals today?
I think, for working women, it is critical to be dedicated. I’d like to tell working professionals like me this: continue to work hard and strive to reach your goals!
What has been your biggest success during the Covid-19 lockdown phase?
The lockdown has been a gruelling journey.
So far, I’ve done my best to lower the risk of falling ill and protecting those around me. But you know what I’m proud of, the most? I’m still able to find happiness in these troubling times.
I’m really, really grateful for that.
Which woman or women inspire you and why?
Of all the amazing women I’ve met in my life, my grandmother inspires me the most.
She immigrated to the US from Philippines when she was young and became a doctor. Along with my grandfather, she worked really hard to provide for their family. Also, they made sure that they always gave back to society.
You know, they actually went back to Philippines many times and brought with them essentials like clothes and medicines for those in need.
It’s incredible, really!
If you could learn to do anything, what would it be?
I would like to be fluent in another language! Wouldn’t that be fun?
What do you think is the biggest issue faced by women of your age professionally?
Sometimes, I find that people do not take women of my age seriously in the work force. That really is a huge issue.
What does the International Women’s Day slogan, #ChoosetoChallenge mean for you in your work life?
To me, this means to challenge myself every day so that I can be the best that I can be.
