This year, with the Christmas celebration at school, we drew a curtain for the celebrations for the calendar year. Last year, the entire campus brimmed with the joy and festivities before the school closed for winter vacation. The scene of the nativity was created so naturally in a crib and was enacted live, the choir welcomed the newborn Jesus with their melodious voice and the arrival of Santa Claus created much excitement. There was a special cultural programme for the tiny tots too.
The present scenario of pandemic and absence of students certainly dampened the vigour of the celebration but not the festive spirit. The celebration was virtual this time. At the school entrance, a crib was decorated. With the support of parents, few students donned as angels and shepherds and arrived to join the celebration. Their presence was much appreciated and they were given books as Christmas presents. A melodious Christmas choir and a beautifully decorated Christmas tree in front of the crib added to the charm of the festivities. Much excitement was added with the arrival of Santa Claus. A video was shot for the virtual Christmas celebration and we hope this will make the students feel the joy of the festivities and a part of the celebration.
